Super Moon Of 2012

Tonight (May 5th 2012) will see the Super Moon of 2012, Super Moon refers to a Perigee Full Moon.  This occurs when the moon is at its closest to earth.  By 11.34 pm UK time, the moon will be around 221,802 miles from earth, which is around 15,300 miles closer to the earth than normal.  The extra force from the moon being closer to the earth can cause tides to rise slightly.

This photo was taken from our garden in So─čucak, Turkey at 8.50pm local time.
