Eurasian Jackdaw

I saw this little fellow sitting in the middle of the path, whilst out for a walk, in a local wood in the UK.  He seemed a bit winded and when I first approached him, he hardly moved and was being pestered by some flies. After shooing off the flies he seemed happy to pose for me before he started hopping off to the shelter of a nearby bush.  When we returned later he had gone, I hope he managed to fly away and was not carted off.
