One Hook, Two Hooks, Three..........

Today whilst walking along the beach, one of the cafes had 4 plastic trays sitting outside, crammed full of small shrimps.  My first thought was 'strange way of advertising a new item on the menu!'.

While I was studying these little critters, a man came out of the cafe carrying a fairly large, round, wicker basket full of fishing line.  Which he sat down next to the trays of shrimps.

When I looked closer at the basket, the fishing line was very neatly coiled around in the basket and all around the top edge of the basket were fishing hooks.

The man then started to put the shrimp on the hooks.

After about an hour he was just under half way round the basket.

The reason for doing this is so that when he goes out in his boat, he feeds the line and the hooks out, leaves it for a short while and then hauls it back in, hopefully with a good catch of fish, to sell at his cafe.
